Press release: Rabbitsoft chases the big bucks with Clinked.com

A young Cambridge UK software house whose technology creates online order from potential chaos is laying the foundations for global growth. While it is shunning the temptation to claim to be the next Autonomy, Rabbitsoft has already won customers in the United States and the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires, with its digital data play. The company is in the process of ramping up headcount and charting the optimum strategy for raising finance.

An early version of the company’s Wiki-oriented online project collaboration & document sharing tool Clinked won the Red Herring 100 Europe Award in 2009. Now it has been shortlisted for the Cisco British Innovation Awards.

With Clinked refined and updated Rabbitsoft is now ready to go for the burn. Rabbitsoft has hired Cambridge PR & marketing specialist, The Foundry House, to raise awareness of Clinked and support the business’ high growth strategy.

Rabbitsoft co-founder and CEO, Tayfun Bilsel, says: "Clinked goes beyond file sharing to help people seamlessly manage projects and collaborate over content.” The company believes that its Wiki-like pages, secure hosting and preview technology make it easy to develop and share content without the confusion that arises from versions and endless emails.

With Clinked, everything – from messages to documents, video, calendar and tasks - is in one place and optimised for all devices, the company says. The technology is already being used by companies across a variety of sectors including manufacturing, architecture, education and business services. Available in 10 languages, it is gaining traction in new sectors and countries fast.

The business launched in 2008 but spent over two years developing the technology, the first incarnation of which was launched last year. Rabbitsoft is seven-strong at present but hopes to double headcount in the next year subject to funding. It has been accepted on the Growth Accelerator programme – the new coaching programme delivered by St John's Innovation Centre – and as part of that will be working on the fundraising strategy and new target markets.

Tayfun Bilsel continues: “We saw a gap in the market for a fully Wiki-oriented online project collaboration & document sharing tool that does not require computer science degree to use.
“So a handful of us spent two years beavering away in a converted swimming pool hall in Cambridge – along with two dogs, a ferret and a polecat called Badger – and the result was Clinked, which is as simple to use as humanly possible.”
