Thanks to the support and feedback of the Clinked community, the team here have worked tirelessly throughout 2021 to develop exciting and ever more efficient functionality to the platform. From minor to significant updates, it’s been a year full of innovation and new possibilities for Clinked users.
So let’s take a look back at just a handful of the major new feature releases that we’ve made in order to better satisfy our customers needs and grow as a product.
DocuSign
One of our first and most significant releases of the year was our integration with DocuSign. This opened up a world of opportunities for our clients to be able to request and sign contracts or other documents from their portals with ease. Despite already having an integration with Adobe Sign, there were drawbacks which meant that the integration was only available to holders of an Adobe Enterprise account. We listened to our customers' difficulties with this and consequently provided an alternative e-signature solution that was more easily accessible to all of our customers. This was achieved with DocuSign as there is no specific level of account required in order to use the integration. The new update was a massive success and received lots of positive feedback.

Temporary members
Another of our significant updates was temporary member functionality. This feature was developed thanks to client feedback for the need to invite a user to a group for a restricted amount of time, whether that be a couple of hours, a day or a week.
You asked for it - our team was happy to deliver, bringing our customers this simple but highly utilised function. Ideal for when you have an individual who needs restricted access into a Clinked group, for example a client who you don’t work with on a regular basis, a freelance worker or a partnership you’re closing business with. This workflow allows the member to have access to an entire group and all of the content inside it, as opposed to a guest share which only provides access to a specific piece of content.

Task Updates
Task Prioritisation - Copying Tasks & Categories - Filtering.
In May, we made some major improvements to the tasks management tool within Clinked, again after listening to many customer requests. Some of these included:
- Task prioritisation
- The ability to copy and paste tasks and task categories
- Advanced filtering options for tasks
These features were game changers, taking Clinked’s project management functionality to the next level and making it one of the most popular tools amongst customers. With these new features, Clinked tasks went from a basic progress tracker to a more effective and efficient way of managing, tracking and auditing projects amongst clients and teams. Look out for even more developments to the tasks functionality in 2022.

Subgroups
One of our newer and most significant feature releases of 2021 was Subgroups.
Subgroups are an incredibly valuable addition to Clinked that creates an easy way to quickly replicate the same content across a set of groups. A main group will host the various content types, such as files or events, that are replicated down to the associated subgroups in real-time. This provides a way to efficiently manage content across groups to keep your content management streamlined. This structure has many benefits, but best of all is a massive time saver due to the quick creation, updating and deleting of content that is similar across multiple groups.

Folder Descriptions
Another highly requested feature that we are delighted to have released to our clients in the past year was folder descriptions. This new update means that you can now add descriptions to folders, which is ideal for when you need to display a summary of a folder's purpose to your internal team or clients. It’s just another feature that makes working with Clinked a breeze.

Shortcuts
Our latest feature release that we’re very excited about allows you to display custom tabs within your group home pages. If you need an additional button for easy access - perhaps to a specific file, or an external resource, shortcuts are the ideal solution. This function can be used to display a shortcut directly on your group dashboard to a certain piece of content either within your portal, or to an external URL. This feature is great for a wide variety of uses, for example

Other new additions
There were also some smaller new additions that have still made a big impact to the user experience inside Clinked. Some of these include:
Emoji reactions
You can now react to comments inside Clinked with a choice of different emojis. This feature is useful for quickly acknowledging a comment, when a reply isn’t necessarily needed.
Members Last Active
Another handy new feature that you may have noticed is the ability to see when other members of the portal were last active. All users will be able to view this information from the group members area.
Profile Gifs
Finally, the last new feature addition that’s made it to our favourites is profile gifs. Why not bring more life to your profile with a moving profile picture?
